Welcome to our site, we hope you find it interesting and hope it will encourage you to come and pay us a visit here in Pembrokeshire, West Wales. Please use the calendar below to check our availability between April and October.
By modern standards Rhydhowell as a profitable working Welsh farm is no longer viable, but it is such a beautiful and magical place it would be sad to see it sold off in lots as so many other farms in the area have been. Perhaps one day we will see the whole property and not just the buildings listed as the best example of a farm dating from the 18th century!
We have lived here for over a generation and in that time have seen many changes and suffered many tribulations, but through it all the one constant has been the land. Despite drought and flood, nature continues to enhance the place, with us mere mortals trying to give a helping hand. It can seem quite strange to look at mature trees and think we planted those as saplings. We have always tried to work to two sayings that have always seemed relevant, one is “You don’t farm for yourself you farm for your grandchildren” and the other is “I speak on behalf of the next generation, a hill and a valley, a view to the sea, these things are not ours to do as we want with, a gift given once for eternity".
Whether we have succeeded is for others to judge, but if you want peace, tranquility, the natural beauty of the Welsh countryside and I use the word again, magic then we are sure this is one of the places you will discover it.
